Who we are: EMITY, a French digital signage software publisher

Behind EMITY there is a team based in Jacou, near Montpellier, and an office in Paris. We build the software that drives your screens ourselves, and we have it installed by a network of certified resellers across France and Europe.

OUR DNA

One team, one platform, one network

If EMITY is new to you, here is the short version — and who picks up the phone when you call.

  • A French publisher. EMITY was founded in 2018 in Jacou, in the Hérault region of southern France. The software, the player and the embedded app are all designed here, by our own engineering team.
  • One suite, several jobs. Digital signage, visitor sign-in, room booking, queue management, live sports scoring: more than six applications brought together in a single dashboard, E-MANAGER.
  • Sold through resellers. We do not sell directly: more than 130 certified partners advise you, install the system and handle the follow-up close to you.
  • Compatible with your screens. Android, Tizen, webOS, chromeOS, touch kiosks, electronic paper: every manufacturer, with no lock-in to a single brand.
  • From 1 to 1,000 screens. The platform is the same for a corner shop and for a multi-site group; only the subscription changes.

OUR STORY

From an engineering office to a publisher present in more than 20 countries

It all started in 2015 under the name WePub, inside an engineering office specialising in embedded systems. Back then digital signage — those screens that automatically play content in a shop, a lobby or a workshop — almost always ran on a plain web browser: fragile, slow, hard to monitor remotely.

Gédéon Ruas and Alexandre Voron, each with seventeen years in industry and engineering, approached the problem from the other end: design the player — the box that feeds the screen — as a piece of industrial equipment, running Linux and built for video. Two years of research later, EMITY was founded in 2018 in Jacou. The priorities have not changed since: a screen that runs without anyone thinking about it, software you can pick up without lengthy training, and content that stays secure.

  • 2018EMITY is founded in Jacou. The company is recognised by the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole Business & Innovation Centre and joins the Cap Alpha business incubator in Clapiers.
  • 2019Winner of the Réseau Entreprendre Occitanie Méditerranée award, which recognises companies with strong growth potential.
  • 2020First markets outside France: Canada, Switzerland, Belgium and Senegal.
  • 2021-2022Canva is built into the platform, and distribution widens through the audiovisual wholesalers EET and Acadia.
  • 2023New 170 m² head office in Jacou, and a company valuation of €1.2 million.
  • 2024-2025Adobe Express joins Canva on the design side, and the partner network meets for its annual seminar, first in Massane then in La Grande Motte.

What sets us apart

  • First on electronic paper. EMITY is the first French publisher to support E-PAPER: a screen that stays readable in bright sunlight, draws no power while the content is unchanged and lasts up to five years on a battery. With SoluM and Samsung.
  • Compatible with every manufacturer. Where brand-tied solutions only drive their own screens, we stay open to all makers — and your existing estate can be taken over, under our Replay label.
  • One suite, one point of contact. One contract, one training session, one dashboard for every job, where you would otherwise stack up three single-purpose publishers.
  • IPTV and digital signage together. Television channels and your own content from the same platform, with no second system to install.
  • Live scoring, inside the stadium. Our multi-sport live scoring module shows the score and match clock in real time on every screen in the venue.
  • NFC, RFID and video walls. A badge held near a reader triggers the right media; and master-slave synchronisation runs a video wall with no image drift.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What we get asked most

EMITY is a French software publisher, founded in 2018 and based in Jacou, near Montpellier in southern France, with an office in Paris. We develop a suite of applications built around the professional screen: digital signage, interactive display, visitor sign-in, room and desk booking, queue management and live sports scoring. The software is distributed through a network of more than 130 certified resellers across France and Europe.

The project started in 2015 under the name WePub, inside an engineering office specialising in embedded systems. EMITY was founded in 2018 and took over that technical foundation. If you were looking for WePub, you are in the right place: it is the same team.

Gédéon Ruas, CEO, and Alexandre Voron, CTO. Each spent seventeen years in industry and in engineering before founding EMITY, which is where the “industrial equipment” approach to the player and the software comes from.

Through a reseller. Our distribution is indirect: more than 130 certified partners advise you, price the project, install it and handle the follow-up. Not sure who to turn to? Write to us and we will point you to the nearest partner. You can also create a trial account and get hands-on with the platform before deciding anything.

Yes, and it is our main growth channel. The programme, the terms and the certification are set out on the become a partner page. We train every reseller and bring the network together once a year for a seminar.

In the vast majority of cases, yes. We deliberately stay compatible with every manufacturer — Samsung, LG, Philips, Android, Tizen, webOS, chromeOS — rather than with a single brand. Taking over an estate already running a competing solution is also possible, under our Replay label. The best thing is to describe your estate to us and we will give you a straight answer.

More than 1,000 customer accounts, for more than 7,000 connected screens, ranging from one to a thousand screens per account. They include major accounts such as Schindler, Europcar and Colissimo, alongside many smaller shops, practices and local authorities. A few examples are on our projects page.

Yes, in more than twenty countries. International expansion began in 2020 with Canada, Switzerland, Belgium and Senegal; Europe is now the priority market for export. The head office, however, has never left the Hérault.

A question, a project, an estate to modernise?

Tell us about your situation: we answer you ourselves, and we put you in touch with the partner closest to you.
